Always just a tap away

Native clients ship on both the iOS App Store and Google Play. The trynectar app talks to the same backend as the web product — identical account, identical thread, identical memory graph — and layers on push notifications, sub-second cold start, and a fullscreen chrome-free UI. The binary weighs about 35 MB on both stores and finishes installing quickly even on a weak cellular signal.

Both platforms are treated as first-class targets. iOS 15 and up on iPhone and iPad, Android 9 and up on phones and tablets. Account state replicates between devices in real time, so a roleplay opened on the iPhone in the morning resumes on an Android tablet the same evening with zero recap. The account is the unit of identity here, not whichever piece of hardware happens to be in your hand.

No install required. The browser product is the default surface and runs on every device — phone, tablet, desktop. The native binary is purely additive: push, fullscreen chrome, faster cold start. Most users begin in a browser tab and install once the product has actually earned a home-screen slot, rather than as a precondition for getting started. There's no feature-gated content sitting behind the install gate.

Not meaningfully. Push notifications ride on Apple's and Google's standard delivery infrastructure, which is essentially free in battery terms because the OS handles the delivery without the app needing to be running. Image generation executes entirely server-side, so the on-device GPU never spins up. An active chat session costs roughly what an active iMessage or WhatsApp session does. Passive daily drain is in the noise floor against normal phone usage.

Push fires on unprompted messages — the moments when she writes first rather than answering your latest reply. Per-character mute toggles are supported, global quiet hours are configurable, and a hard frequency cap prevents flood scenarios from any single thread. Notifications are off by default and require an explicit opt-in at first launch. Revoking the permission later from system settings is a single trip and doesn't break anything else in the app.

Sub-second sync on any normal connection. A message sent from the trynectar app is on the laptop tab before the phone is back on the table. Memory updates, image gallery additions, per-character settings, read receipts, and unread badges all replicate together as one unit. There is no merge-conflict logic anywhere in the codebase because the thread is one backend object every device renders, not two copies that occasionally reconcile.

Free on both stores, free to use on the bottom tier, no card collected at signup. The free plan covers unlimited typed chat, the full memory layer, entry-level image generation, and push notifications. Premium adds voice replies in the character voice you locked at setup and lifts the image resolution ceiling — but the core experience, the part that decides whether the product actually works for you, runs entirely on the free tier.

Two optional prompts, total. Notifications appear at first launch and are required only if you want push to fire. Photo library access is asked exactly once, the moment you actively try to upload an image. Nothing else — no contacts, no location, no microphone, no calendar, no advertising identifier, no background scheduler beyond the standard push listener. Revoking either permission later from system settings keeps the app fully functional.
